4 MONTHS OFF.... IS THIS DEPRESSION OR BRAIN FOG

[Ne...]

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I was doing pretty well for a while and now I can't seem to figure out if I am suffering from depression, or it's just the brain fog is that bad that I feel almost delusional and lethargic.  My mornings are pretty rough and it does get better.  I have these crazy thoughts how my life is never going to be normal again with just a ton of fear.  My anxiety has been pretty good for the most part but I do find myself getting choked up a bit with panic lately and I just can't figure out if at 4 months off this is still W/D (I'm assuming it is).  I guess after 10 years of 1-2 mg of xanax or klonopin a day, 4 months is not a long time.  All of my other symptoms have left me which is nice.  I am still just battling depression or brain fog, whatever this is and a little bit of fear. Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

ALL IN ALL I AM HAPPY I AM OFF, AND I KNOW THIS IS PROBABLY JUST A PART OF HEALING BUT IT IS SO VERY HARD.  HERES TO LIFE BEYOND BENZOS.

NewLife,

I too am off C as it will be 120 days 7/12...I have a lot of good days IF I sleep well. That is my key and to keep big stresses out of my life. I too experience brain fog and some depression and occasional panic attacks. Today is a good day!

the best part is I have had good and some great days so I know what is possible. I dont if I call them waves but I'll take the good days...The big stresses for me is realizing the opportunities I missed due to the fog or trying to reestablish old relationships. Those closest to me do realize a change in me even on a bad day.

I am hoping I will be even better this time next month as I may be starting a new job soon. I wished I had kept a journal but who feels like it...

I hope the best for you. Keep up the fight and pray a lot. My daily devotional helped me a lot, the Good Lord did speak to me through his word!

NewLife,

Sounds to me as if you are doing great at four months. I reckon your issues are recovery symptoms. Everybody’s journey is different. Don’t be surprised if things remain up and down for a while. I got worse from 3-7 months but that doesn’t mean that you will.

Your positive outlook will be such a great help to you.

Good luck
