Severe depression

Hi , Has anyone else gotten severe depression from getting off Benzos?  I have never had depression like this before.  I cold turkeyed Valium six months ago and am now trying to tapering another drug but the depression has just gotten unbearable.  Is there any hope of this getting better?

Yes. I am about 6 months out from a CT/rapid taper. I’m deeply depressed.

It kills me that I cannot get outside and enjoy the beauty of the summer. And that everyone else seems to be out enjoying life and I am stuck in this.

I tried to take remeron for a couple of weeks but had to d/c. Helped at first, but it turned on me.

I know what you mean about not enjoying the sunshine.  I hate to see a beautiful day because then I feel like I should be out enjoying it.  So did you get off Zoloft while you were in Benzo withdrawal?  I have been tapering respiradone and it is horrible.  All my symptoms are getting worse.  Don’t know if I should reinstate or what.  It really feels like I have brain damage from these drugs.

I took remeron....not zoloft.  I had to discontinue it via CT a few days ago bc it made me so agitated and irritable.

I am thinking I might have been misdiagnosed before benzos with only depression and anxiety........when now I not only have benzo w/d syndrome, but a mood disorder, cptsd, and possibly biopolar.  I think the depression/anxiety disorder may have been misdiagnosed and was actually bipolar.....I really wish I had known this before taking a benzo.  Had I been diagnosed properly and received the proper medication, I may have never been prescribed a benzo.  Sigh.

I am almost 6 months out --  no, I started remeron a couple of weeks ago because of depression........but I think it is actually w/d, but it could also be a mixed hypomanic/depressive bipolar episode.  Could not tolerate the remeron though.

Sry, did not answer that clearly previously.
