Back Spasms and Leg Pain

I have had back issues since starting this whole process. I'm getting a nerve conduction study in awhile and have physical therapy finally scheduled. I have terrible lower back spasms and leg pain, numbness and tingling. It feels like sciatica or a pinched nerve, I am bed bound because of this. I have tried to do walks and stretching and it only gets worse, plus I have exercise intolerance pretty bad. It doesn't seem to matter how slow I go with my DLMT, if I taper at all, my back is in pain.

Anyone have any advice? Thanks

Have you had any tests yet?

I saw my doc today for similar, and x-rays show that I have osteoarthritis and likely sciatica.

I'm really sorry about your pain. I know what you're talking about, although I now think mine has nothing to do with the taper other than feeling rough all around.

Hi Lilyann,

Thanks for responding. No tests yet except an xray when my whole spine was in spasm last year. I am waiting for PT to start, won't be for another month. They won't order an MRI until you have had 6 PT sessions now. It's ridiculous. I have a nerve conduction study and they are scheduled out three months. So unfortunately no tests. I know my back problems are caused by the taper and wd, I have healed it in the past over time, when I'm off the benzo. But they are also old injuries and issues that seem to flare up from the muscle relaxer effect of the benzo. I have been off and on them for years, this is the first time I was able to make the correlation.

What I mean is I don't think it is going to heal until I'm fully off.

I started having lower back pains about a month and half ago that come and go. I never had back pain before.

But....I have had a weird crunching in my back for a couple years now but I have never had any pain from it. My back has always felt pretty good. fast forward to this year and I have almost every WD symptom there is to have. Around a month or so ago my back starts having some pain. I have done some exercises for it just in case there is acutally something wrong with it.

But like I said it comes and goes.

I hope yours gets better.
