Reinstate?

I’ve been off benzos for 6 months now and feel worse than ever. I tapered the last 10 mg of valium in 2 months. Was that to fast? And is it a good idea or a really stupid idea to reinstate and taper more slow? I was on benzos for almost 7 years, either klonopin 2 -8 mg or xanax 2-6 mg. The last 2 years 20-30 mg valium. Month 2-4 were good compared to how i feel now. Is it normal to feel worse then ever at 6 months out?

Some people do reinstate months out in desperation. But do you really want too.  ?

Yes that was a fast last taper.  I would but it in perspective—- you’ve cracked it and will be well.

No i really don’t want to. But when i feel this bad i’m considering everything. I try to put it in perspective like you said, it keeps me going. Thank you for your reply!

That was probably too fast but at six months out many people feel how you are who did slow tapers! It goes well for a few months then bam. That's what I've seen. It will pass. I'm sorry it's so bad this is such a hard thing to do but you will get through it. Hang on friend. I also wouldn't judge you for reinstating but imagine how much time that will take and the fact that you might deal with the same thing again... this process makes me feel like this most of the time:  overthinking it is the norm for our frazzled nervous systems.

After being off benzo for 6 months, it appears counterproductive to go back.  I read a meme once which stuck with me.  Do something today which your future self will thank you for.

Thats terrible it got worse at 6 months. I can't imagine. Even worse though would be imagining to go thru this all over again. I would not go back on benzos. I've also read lots of people on here who have gone back on and had an adverse reaction or an even harder time with the second w/d. I have read lots of people as well who got worse only as a last bad wave before getting better so I would hang in there!

There’s no guarantee it will work or will go any better. You’re off. You’ll heal. Knowing what I know now, no, I wouldn’t do it.
