Valium sedation getting worse during taper, why?

I c/o over to Valium at 15 mg from ativan which caused heavy sedation sx that I expected from the Valium.

I am now almost down to 13 mg of Valium, but the sedation seems to be getting worse instead of better as my dose lowers.  I take no other medication except the Valium.

 

Has anyone else experienced this with a Valium taper?  I thought the sedation was suppose to get better as your tapered lowered, not the other way around.

 

Any thoughts from Valium users or anyone with this experience during a taper?

The feeling of sedation may be fatigue related to the body adjusting to lower amounts of benzo and GABA healing. Now that I'm lower (but with Xanax), I have been feeling totally wiped out, and I think it's just my body trying to get back on track.

Yes, valium is very sedating to me from very beginning, it gets better each time I cut, but ramps up along the way so I have to cut again to control it while enduring wd agony. I'm at 0.34mg now but it still comes up

 

You may want to try to reduce dose see how you fell.
