Opinions on my situation please

I was wondering what people think about this. I am currently in a massive setback from alcohol which has lasted 18 months. I healed from benzos in 2014.

In Oct 2017 after 8 months of drinking, I started to get a few symptoms back. I quit drinking immediately. I was ok for months. However, my issues stated after taking 3 weeks of Benadryl after the alcohol incident. The symptoms and akathisia were almost as bad as my acute in 2012 and 2013.

It took 18 months for it to settle down a little. Then on month 19 I was exposed to industrial chemicals and hydrocarbons. This setback was the worse out of all. My body started on fire and a whole host of new neuro symptoms popped up. Never had back issues before and now it waxes and wanes between mental and massive electricity shooting to my spine that also morphs and transfers to pins and needles and burning in my feet. Sometimes I feel like I have the flu and vomit half of the day.

To me this all seems like Neuropathy and CNS trauma. It can not be GABA receptors or waves because my symtpoms are minimal until im exposed to anything.

For instance, I could heal and be working and doing a bit better and all of a sudden I get exposed to dental resin or a medical procedure that has me pacing and burning for 5 to 6 days then settles down.

But when I got hit with the hydrocarbons, nothing is settling down and I assume it may take years to heal the CNS again.

As I said all these exposures and setbacks bring on more CNS issues that were not there prior to the exposure. This sure sounds like damage to the system or toxic neuropathy. Benzos start it and weaken the CNS sure, but setbacks to me sound like nothing more than additional trauma to the system.

Whats your opinion?

My opinion on this is when your healed, your healed that's it. When you cut yourself it doesn't heal and then re open.

That said, like with a cut there may or may not be some weakness in the integrity of the system and if you hit that spot again, it may re open more easily than it would have previously. I think kindling points to this.

Does this make sense?

I honestly don’t think we heal and ever are “normal” again. There are many years and years off  and still can’t be normal. It’s like living an unknown hell everyday and everyone feel different. I’m 28 months off and worse as time goes on

It does, but what I am referring to is why do chems or substances not related to gaba or benzos at all able to cause massive amounts of trauma on the CNS even years off benzos.

Meaning I could be ok, then take an antibiotic and develop nerve pain that may linger for years from possible one or 2 doses of the antibiotic depending how sensitive I am. The last exposure to paint fumes set me back 5 months and I still have some residual issues from that exposure.

I was better as time goes on, but I mean if I go to the dentist, a filling can cause 5 or 6 days of misery. But this last exposure to chems has caused so many issues for me its incredible! I never had burning at all from benzo detoxes, but years later after exposure to hydrocarbons and formaldehyde my skin burns like crazy and has lessened a bit but not much.

I agree. Its CNS trauma and damage. Its not downregulated receptors. This is why those who CT may have worse symptoms that last longer its not downregulation but its HARD on the CNS and fries it! Then it takes years for neuropathy to somewhat resolve if it does.
