Antibiotic - Minocycline??

[...]

Recommended Posts

I have to take an antibiotic and am utterly terrified. I've tried natural solutions to no avail.

I persuaded my doctor into letting me try Minocycline as it seems to have some of the least potential to F me up.

But, after being all jacked up for the past 4 days because I had a freaking cup of caffeinated tea, I know that I am still hella sensitive.

So... Any final thoughts before I take this antibiotic plunge.....? Is Minocycline a safe choice? I would love to hear accounts from people who took Minocycline and made it to the end of the course without being thrust into an awful setback from hell.  >:D

Hi

Doxycycline which is similar did make me more anxious and it is a recognised side effect

As long as you KNOW it’s only temporary then I think you will cope.

You must drink lots of water on it.

Best wishes

Thanks for responding!

I can handle an uptick in some symptoms... It's the full blown setback that scares me!

At what point did you take Doxy? How far into your withdrawal?

Not in withdrawal at the time.  Was on 4 psychotropic meds.

I took double dose for mycoplasma pneumonia.  I managed the week.

Just felt slightly tense, but I was suffering from infection.

At eight months RX free after a grueling fifteen month taper I was forced to take clindomiacinn after developing a staph infection. During this same time frame I also had to visit the dentist three times all of which required an anesthetic! I currently feel like I'm back in acute w/d....sometimes it feels like I just can't win :-X
