Out of benzo, needing some advice!

[...]

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I'm out of benzo since 4 months, and out of AD since 2, and I need some help.

My tapering took 3 years, a very long, slow, intermittent, suffered, hellish tapering. The last 18 months were super slow.

I had neurological and phisical problems, I have been like a vegetable for a long time, worse than a vegetable, because I couldn't move and suffered all day.

Now I'm fine (thanks God.. if compared to before!!) but I have many difficulties to.. come back

to the world.

I joined the forum during the tapering some time ago, but then I deleted because I was very

scared reading some horror stories here.

Now I'm FREE guys! I feel fine, since 3-4 months! I have strenght again! Sometimes I sleep soooooo well!

I'd like to write a detailed success story when I'll be better.

Keep on going, you CAN do it, believe it!

Welcome to BenzoBuddies!  We are glad you decided to join us.  You'll find a lot of support and information on this forum, which is the only one of its kind online.  Congratulations on your healing progress!

For those starting a taper, we generally recommend starting out at a rate of 5 to 10% every 10-14 days, then adjusting the taper to suit your own needs.  Note: very short term users may be able to taper faster.

Withdrawal symptoms, which vary widely but commonly include anxiety and insomnia, often occur during a taper, but these are temporary and will get better in time.  In general, first tapers are easier, but cold turkeys or multiple withdrawals may be more severe and longer lasting.  Here are a few links to get you started:

The Ashton Manual, a concise reference for tapering and symptom issues.  Chapter III contains excellent descriptions of common symptoms such as muscle issues, anxiety, and hyper-awareness

Once again, welcome!
