Diclofinac - Any concerns with Xanax?

[Li...]

Recommended Posts

I have burning fire pain down the side of my right thigh (five months now), and my doctor called in Diclofinac. It's an anti-inflammatory.

I did look this drug up and could not find any issues with benzos. It did say taking it with alcohol could be very dangerous. I'm not drinking anything, and my DLMT has such small amounts of vodka that I don't think that's a concern.

My sister is a nurse and suspects I have sciatica. The doctor said we may need to have my back checked, so that makes me think that he's thinking nerve pain as well. But, Diclofinac does not help nerve pain.

I thought this was just the hell of Xanax taper.

Any knowledge or thoughts? I hope the anti-inflammatory helps, and I sure hope it does not complicate the Xanax w/d taper.

Thanks Adjusta! I hope this does work. I've always done better with aspirin over Tylenol, and I think it's due to the anti-inflammatory stuff in aspirin.

I've started checking all meds now so as not to get in another mess like Xanax.

Just a note about the sciatica - if you do have it, look up a yoga pose called inverted tree. I've had sciatica on both sides, this pose got rid of it in about ten days. My best friend had it too, and got rid of his as well the same way. It's basically tree pose, but you're bent over with your hands on the floor, and your foot on the opposite hip. Relax and let your hip drop on the side the bent knee is on. Hold pose for at least a minute. You may have to work up to a minute. I haven't had sciatic pain for years due to this pose.

As far as Diclofenac, it doesn't do a damn thing for me. Other than tear up my GI tract. I was prescribed the cream for arthritis pain, cause I can't take the oral stuff, which didn't do a damn thing for me either.

Hi Mayavata,

I think Google must post advanced inverted tree yoga poses. Well, you may have a lot of faith in me though:

https://www.google.com/search?q=inverted+tree+pose&client=firefox-b-1-d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiT_dTosr_iAhXig-AKHRTkDBgQ_AUIDigB&biw=1056&bih=482#imgrc=8MpwGgBkB-2GWM:

My legs are very skinny but flexible and strong. I think I can do the yoga but maybe not in a handstand.

GI slam? Ouch. I've had that with Metformin for diabetes. I wonder if the doc remembers that? Sometimes my abdomen hurts equal to my outer thigh. They call it IBS, but I'm not convinced. That was just from a previous doctor.

Thanks for the info. I will read your note again and look at some more online yoga pics and see if I can find one close.

OMG NO! LOLOL!!! I couldn't do the stuff on that link you sent to save my life! ACK!

Stand up straight. Put your right foot up to your left hip. Bend over and touch the floor. Don't bend your left knee. Feel your right hip drop. Hold for a minute. Repeat on other side.

I think I got it. I can't go down to the floor yet. I got a little footstool and put my hand that far down. A start anyway. And, I've never done any yoga.

You should have seen my face when I saw the inverted tree poses online. LOL. I was like: Boy. She must think I'm very athletic. And younger than what I am too.  :D

Hey...I do yoga, and I'm neither athletic nor young. 58. A stool is fine, ya gotta start somewhere. My best friend had never done yoga either, but after I showed him how to get rid of that sciatica, he does it regularly now.

Oh. We are about the same ages. I am 57. Yeah. I didn't feel bad about a small stool for a first try. It would be great if it gets rid of that thigh burning. I don't know what that is yet. My sister just guessed sciatica, and I do have some spinal osteo. Exercise is good regardless. I've mostly been walking daily.

Your posts make me happy! It is always good with the positive, it means so much! With only negative thinking, there is no hope.

I have always been a dancer, and before WD this was no big problem. But today? I almost kill myself. And 64 years old. What a joke!

I have a lot of pain, and the body is so stiff. But WD, and a passive life, cause a lot of trouble. So your posts were a reminder of, how important it is to take care of the body.

But we never give up, right? So slowly but surely. Or should I try all the poses? If I'm not logged in for a while, then you know why!

Translator - I picked out the poses I do through trial and error, and body parts that needed worked on. I do a lot of stuff for shoulders, hips and spine, trying to keep them flexible. If I don't do yoga regularly, my body stiffens up terribly. I rarely skip more than a day or two.

LOL Anna. I want photos if anyone gets the yoga poses from Google. Fortunately the leg on thigh and lean over was do-able if not all the way to the floor yet.

I was always athletic. Water sports were my passion. I think I could do some lower impact versions - maybe not this year but hopefully next.

The benzos are wicked bad on the body and mind, but we know the problem now and can keep working on it. I get really stressed and depressed sometimes, but I keep telling myself to keep my eye on the prize. I think getting off Xanax will make a huge difference.
