Guys I am in huge wave with brutal stiffness, rigidity, pain and cramps. I am like in the beginning of this bullshit. I an 17m off. I am totally lost. I was thinking that I will be healed already or cant be never so bad like the beginning (Acute).

I cant handle anymore with this.

I have depression from this condition. I dont want to fight anymore I've lost my faith because its too painful and long. Just wanna die but this is not happening just I am suffering everyday.

Cant handle with any stress again. I have 24/7 waves without windows again. I am almost bedridden..

All day I am thinking about how bad I am and probably I will die from another new disease from too much stress or I will be forever like this.

I am loosing this war.

I am so sorry you’re suffering so much and for so long. I’m only 2 weeks off but my taper has been very difficult. I too often want to give up but i try to remember I am still here. I’m not killing myself so I may as well try to enjoy what I can. Even if that’s some fruit and a good show on tv. It’s hell. I’m really sorry. You’re not alone. I hope we’re all better at the end of this.

I hear you and i certainly sympathize. This is my second time to go through this, the first in 05 and I was off a year or more before my Dr talked me into reinstating ( long story and the issue they were rxed for was in alot of pain ) I am almost 6 moths this time and again the gut issue this was rxed for is flaring so bad , Inflammatory Bowel Disease made far worse my an emergency gal bladder op ,  and my POTS is just unspeakable . I am very angry about being in this trap..

I am getting ready to post what my GP told me . It is not triggering but it is sure heartbreaking . I would not judge anyone for anything . We have been put into a sometimes no win situation . You want to tough it out and at the same time wonder about quality of life , I am 56 almost 57 and this I am sure has taken years off . Plus whatever time I have left I just need to be somewhat comfortable .

I am so so sorry and angry too for you , for me , for all of us .

I know how you are feeling Lexsant. My w/d from Seroquel is killing me. And I did a really long taper. Was on them for 6 months and taper 3 months....We have to fight thru every day. I feel like I just wanna die on the other hand I am afraid of death and dying so it i mixed emotions. I guess my brain telling me lies. Give up is not an option. I am 20 months of this week. And my wave right now is brutal. I hope it will be so mych better when Seroquel w/d is gone. Other heals we will also do that  :smitten:

Hang in there you like me will be fine  :)

I have done this multiple times.

It seems that the benzos actually "kindle" or sensitize the CNS. Some people come off benzos and have small issues and later a few months later take a Benadryl or a AD and find themselves in a year of hell per say.

I think the reason for this is that all chemicals in the brain work together. One affects the other and so on. If GABA is affected and glutamate is out of balance seems that anything that alters other chems causes a host of massive autonomic dysregulation.

As an example of the symptom akathisia, they think its a imbalance of dopamine in the basal ganglia. However, the two chems that seem to play a large role in akathisia are GABA and Serotonin.

If we think about it, akathisia is caused by antipsychotics such as Haldol, Thorazine, Seroquel, Abilify and more. Soooo, if they propose that GABA plays a major role in akathisia, why do meds that do not DIRECTLY hit GABA cause the worst akathisia.

The answer is that all chems work TOGETHER. Affecting dopamine (lowering) causes glutamate hyperexcitability and so on.

If there is already a sensitivity or imbalance caused by GABA downregulation, parts of the brain are already off balance. Coming off another AD or psych med now tosses the entire system again in dysregulation.

In short, you cant come off a psych med and feel real poor and point out the fact that you are 15 months off benzos, you basically just shifted all the chems in the brain again and you have to consider that you just came off of a major medication with a CNS that is already off kilter.

It will take some time to readjust.

I know how you feel lexsant, I’m 23 months off and nowhere near I expected to be by now. I honestly thought I’d be healed by 18 months but no such luck.  I just want my life back, it’s slipping away from me, I no longer socialise, I don’t really do much other than lie of the couch, 3 years ago I’d be bored out of my mind spending all day on the couch, but now that’s my life. I’m very depressed at my slow progress.

Sadly, I feel this is very true -in my situation atleast..  Even a non benzo Cross Over seems to reeked havock on my CNS and associated systems..

Lexant, all I could humbly suggest is do the very best to keep your CNS as calm as possible, even if that means bed or similar for a while... If you can manage a basic but cautious routine with light exercise like walking, and getting appropriate sunlight, -on top of a healthy diet, then so much the better... But I know first hand that this isnt always as simple as it sounds...

For many yrs I thought my body to be weak, lacking, -"sensitive"... That the problem was ME, thus MY healing ability felt doubtful... But No, all these meds realy are seriously good at messing us up.. But dont underestimate your bodys ability to find its way clear and heal...

Beware sudden changes... Or adding to the chaos..

I am very sorry that I dont have some suggestion that will help much in this moment, all I can say is together we all stand..

Fight on brother...

:)

A big issue with many is poly drugs.

Meaning "JUST" benzos are terrible and it takes time for the benzo affected individual to heal. However, what really messes things up are jolts, hits and changes in the CNS while healing from benzo sensitivity and dysregulation.

I think if I were to just have been on a benzo and gave it a few years I would have been in much better shape.

Introducing or coming off AD's AP's or other meds seem to really set people back or make them worse for quite some time. Even being exposed to environmental neurotoxins can cause massive issues to an already frail CNS.

I am feeling this way too.  I'm 7 months off and was starting to do pretty well and I got a flu, and I'm SLAMMED with rigid muscles,  pain, tension, just everything feels like I'm back at square one.  I maybe overdid it, or allowed myself to be too stressed out, a week or two before the flu.  I'm definitively noting that and going to try to prevent that in the future.

Hopefully this is your last big wave Lovely and things will begin to ease properly once you are through it.

Your post really resognated with me. At close to nine months post Klonopin..I got slammed with a massive WAVE. It feels like I'm back in acute again after taking ABX for nine measly  days!

I'm far more scared of living like this then I am of dying. I gladly welcome death most days however can not take my own life due to the fact that I have a fourteen year old son.

I feel incredibly trapped with seemingly no other options then to squirm in both physical and mental pain once again. I was sick for years in tolerance withdrawl for around five years before beginning my taper which only further compounds the problem. Life these days is nothing more then an painful chore which I often times find utterly repulsive. Living in this state of consciousness is far from natural and most certainly inhumane.
