This butterfly wants to fly now ....so stressed

Recently I have been under ALOT of stress everything has just piled up and I been having chest pains it then gives me more anxiety and adds more stress and worry. The pains feel like a pinch right where my heart is.

Then recently past few days I have been feeling kind of numb no motivation not much energy just want to be on the couch the whole day

When is it safe to have a drink I'm 8 months off and I have had a drink just on certain occasions

 

Can anyone relate ? How do you deal with stress?

I am not sure I am ever going to drink again, not if it will bring back the worst of withdrawal.  I'm definitely waiting at least until I am two years off until I try a drink.

 

What do I do for stress?  Ah, good question.  Breathing exercises, being mindful.  Just breathing and trying to allow my thoughts to be, and not judge them or react to them very much.  Go in nature- even just outside in a yard or with a pet can be very relaxing and take your mind off everything for a bit.  Find someone else going through the same stressful event and talk about it with them.  Or distract yourself from the stress altogether and watch a movie or read a story or do a puzzle.

Thanks so much I have never been a heavy drinker nor would I drink on a regular occasion but now that I am starting new chapter I feel that it is time to be able to have occasional drinks and socialize if at all possible. I have known that alcohol can affect your gaba never tried rushing into trying to drink but I am curious if we survivors of benzo will able be able to be normal again and drink moderately
