Liquid benzo question

[ch...]

Recommended Posts

Has anyone who previously could not tolerate any forms of liquid benzo been able to use them later in the taper? I am currently at 0.6ish of valium, been tapering for nearly 2 years and, as it's hard to cut/measure /weigh the 2 mg pills, was hoping to switch to liquid. My sx are sort of manageable but I don't feel as good as I did a few months back. I cut 5% per 2 weeks and will not slow down at this stage.

Had trouble initially with partial liquid conversion. Then later had TERRIBLE trouble trying to dry taper due to variability with scale (this was $400 gun powder scale too, not the Amazon Gemini). I took the plunge and went full liquid and things got better. You can alwsys hold a week or two without cutting if your body views liquid conversion as a cut. For me, I cut so small and so slow that I'm sensitive to any little variability, so I needed an accurate dose every time and the ability to cut small. Liquid gave me that. Since your dose is so low, would be a lot easier to cut this way. Also, variance when cutting on small dose probably matters a lot more than in larger dose. Liquid is great because you can dilute the vodka/water solution however you need to cut in as small of increments as you need. I'm super sensitive, but for me, the liquid consistency has helped me be much less sick. Good luck on your decision! Just make sure you're using proper liquid solution. I was an idiot in the beginning and used water only. Big fail until I learned on this website how to mix it up.

Fighterk,

Did your body initially react to the vodka/water solution difference?  Did it initially see it as a cut?

I think it did, but I also cut really fast. I initially made 1/4 of my dose liquid and cut too fast. Then I held and converted another 1/4 to liquid and held like 3 weeks. It was harsh, then I stabilized. In April? I finished converted the other 1:2 of my dose to all liquid now and it has been better. Dry cutting variability was making me really sick. The liquid gave me consistency and the ability to cut small. I'm very sensitive to all of this, but for me liquid was the way to go. It is much more accurate than dry cutting IMO and my scale was $400!!! No cheap and still varied.

Fighterk,

Do you dissolve multiple pills at a time also?  I wonder how much the pill variable dosage impacts the dry cutting, given that it's up to 10%.  You haven't been on very long - I'm surprised you have had such a hard time.  But I def. have a highly sensitive CNS as well.

I'm kindled from every single time I had interdose withdrawals from Ativan for 2 months before K. Then i tapered K too fast and had to updose to .5 in December. All of that kindled me. I dissolve 2 pills at a time. I use the water/vodka solution. Builder in here will help you with liquid solution if you need help. I have a weird ratio.... I dissolve 2 .5 pills in 2mls of vodka. When dissolved, I add 62mls water, making a 64ml solution. Each 8ml contains .125mg. I dose 3 times a day. When I cut, I cut off the morning dose, then next time the afternoon dose, then the next time the night dose. I cut only Mondays and Thursday. My body needs a break. I cannot taper daily, no matter how small. I have a 10ml syringe and a 1ml syringe. I cut only .25ml each time I cut, which is 1/32 of a quarter pill or 1/128 of a .5 pill. I can always figure out my dosage this way. I cut yesterday and total daily dose is now  0.328125K. I keep a taper log. It helps to see my progress.  It is roughly about 5% a month. I've tried going faster, but the insomnia gets terrible, my hearing gets very sensitive, and then the dry heaving gets relentless. The Remeron helps me sleep, eat, and helps with nausea, unless I go too fast, and then the Remeron can't override the withdrawal. If my body lets me it at this speed until taper over, I'll. E off next March. I still feel my cuts, but I'm a mom and I have to work. I can't afford to be bedbound.
