Feel totally empty. Going 7 months. Feels like brain damage. Please let me know if you have recovered from these or direct me to someone who has.

Same here. No emotions and zero motivation do to anything. I feel like a robot. I am 3 years off benzo's.

Coming up on month 9 from a CT of 4 mg of xanax after 3 year’s of use & abuse & everything is returning to normal. Over the last 4 month’s things have progressively gotten better. I do have bouts of irritation for no good reason but that’s beginning to subside as well. Everything seems to return to normal, it’s just that this process can b very slow. I wouldn’t worry about things being permanent, once u begin to toss that idea around it opens the door for a lot of unnecessary worry & stress that can amplify this entire process. Hang in there things get better, all the best in healing.

i was there.

slowly over time my emotions came back. my original personality came back.

my love for life came back. things that once excited me before i started taking benzos, that i had completely forgotten about came back, and it feels like it's a whole new me plus the old me i forgot about.

i'm still working out some issues, but please believe you will recover from the state that you are in.

slowly but surely the feeling you have now will only be a distant memory.

Thank you for your replies.  I seriously need to hear more of these. Both symptoms are so disturbing.  I seriously do not have regular thoughts pop in my head. It is like the brain is just shut off.  Anyone experience this?
