When Does Valium Withdrawal Peak?

Over the last 4 years I've managed to get down from 20mg to 4mg, but for some reason have never been able to really put my finger on when the withdrawals peak. It seems like at about the two week mark, maybe a little sooner. I ask because I'm trying to plan out the last part of my taper, and I'm also going on vacation in the next month and don't want to be in withdrawal then.

Speaking personally, it seems like the hell from V really kicks in about 7-14 days after the last valium dose.  :'(

That makes sense as the slow metabolite disappears at about ten- 14 days.  As long as you understand it it’s less stressful.

Well I guess that makes me feel a little better having a few people agree with the timeframe. It does give you some comfort knowing when the worst is coming and when you'll start to feel better. With longer acting drugs it's harder to pinpoint when the withdrawal peak is and when they subside. I've also been addicted to opiates for a while and whenever I'd take something short acting like heroin or morphine the withdrawal would always peak between 48-72 hours and then things would get better. Super easy to predict and always the same. But the long half life of Valium makes the withdrawals much more bearable because they're mild compared to what I'd feel from Xanax.
