I have a problem with my twin brother who also takes the same meds?

I been having problems with getting along with my twin brother and he says I should taper and doesn't believe in Ashton and wants me to forget the whole thing and just taper my PDoc’s way. Slow taper and stop worry about it and stop ruminating about it. And enjoy life without worrying about the  consequences of WD or tapering all the time. Is he right and I'm overreacting or should I generally be concern. He doesn't care either way and tell me totally forget about and live life now. Any advice?

That is easier said than done when it comes to benzos and withdrawing. How does the pdoc want you to taper?

He’ll switch me to Valium next week telling me to hold but I hit tolerance at 1mg and last few days taking alittle extra for insomnia and anxiety as I try to taper the last several weeks. Should just stay on new dose of 1.5mg or start taper to 1-1.25mg tonight until I see him. I cut back on The Seroquel to 100 mg IR is the reason I updosed on K for sleep. And smart advice?!

I figure if I start tapering one or both alittle over next week til I see my Dr. Maybe I can CT Seroquel the before Dr’s appointment and see what he says the next day too so?! Or I hold til I see him. I think I’ll just take 1mg and 100 Seroquel tonight and hold til I see him and forget about the whole thing til Dr’s appointment?! And get advice from Dr and how to taper off meds with Ashton?! I feel fine taking .mg now til bedtime where I’ll take rest late today.

The risk of psychosis if you CT Seroquel is significant Trench. Will try and find article for you.

Does twin use alcohol to cope? Not the soundest advice from a sibling methinks.

Best wishes

I wouldn't CT the Seroquil either, trench.  I think forty is right, too risky.

I'd hold until you see your doctor.  He sounds alright, prepared to slow taper you.  I'd discuss in entirety with him.  Bet he agrees CT Seroquil not good.  You can still forget about it, til then.

It's always advised to try not ruminate, and to "live life" trench, you don't need a brother to tell you that.  Not ruminating does not mean throwing caution to the wind.

Sometimes the best way to "live life" is to slow taper, and exercise caution, something I think you already know.

No Dick,  we don’t use it to cope with. Just small social occasions and only a few. We only take meds for chronic insomina. But both tapering off with a Dr. and we both decided not to worry, obsess, or ruminate over drugs 24/7. That’s no way to live. Only issues I have are chronic problems insomina, hypertension, maybe a social drink on ocassions like last nite. But I’ll let my Dr devise a taper plan and life life. I don’t have chronic pain or vomiting, can still get out of bed and do normal things I’ll worry about things as they come and let my Dr worry about how to taper me and my health condition. Life to short to obsess about all this. So if I get really get housebound sick than I’ll ask for support. In the live life to the meantime live life to the fully. They worst I’ll get is pre existing insonmina and some depression. No big deal to stress over. I’ll reply in the future if I’m ever in the ER for psychosis or seizure or stroke. And when it does, if it does  happen I’ll post back on here. Sure most Wd’s for most people mild to uncomfortable for awhile like myself. So that’s why I’m leaving BB because I have a life to live as stress free and worry as possible. Not on hear of all the dark places of benzos. Looking stuff up for hours. That’s  just crazy. I accept life fully and throw away the worry.

P.S. We all deal with problems differently so best to everyone here and thanks. Signing off

I have to get off of meds sooner than later.  Both meds are severely effecting my Obstructive sleep apnea when taken together even on CPAP therapy. I have been advised by Pulmonologist in sleep study that meds are causing severe hypoxia in my sleep and if I take anymore than what I take, I may be in respiratory depression from them while sleeping. And my oxygen levels are below 90 while on meds for sleep. I rather be sleep deprived than not wakeup one day from them. And my CPAP set to the highest setting to counter meds side effect. Peace.

Good luck, trench.

You are right.  We do (all) have to make decisions that we feel are in our own best interests.

I wish you the very best.

I wish everyone here, same.

It's too crap to think otherwise.

You are of course right in that deep sleep induced by Seroquel will effect your sleep apnoea and oxygen Sats.

That has to be taken into the mix as mentioned by your respiratory specialist.

I sincerely hope it works out for the good for you.

Yours

Dick
