Greetings!

New addiction specialist MD started me on 1 mg Clonazepam & 5 mg Diazepam (Valium) 5.10.19. Going OK but I refused to go to 4 mg V on 5.20.19. Am still adjusting. He agreed it's up to me. He is using Ashton & told me I had come down too fast before coming to him anyway. I made a new appointment for May 29th just to go over my discomforts. I feel I need more time adjusting & also, I got nervous when he commented that I had "come down too fast anyway" before finding him. He said it was according to the Ashton protocols, which he is using for me.

The first week of V & dosage changes was a little rough. The most noticeable consistent symptom that started with the changes, are creepy, dismaying, & uncomfortable dreams almost every night. Still, they are not nightmares & they don't wake me up exactly. I'm going to stick it out but have no idea when I might come down in mgs again. This second week has been easier. His long term plan is very technical & is all Ashton. Of course I didn't understand a word...but hope to in time. Kind of sleepy & dazed but that's not new. Cheers!

Welcome

We know how we feel and it’s usually not great, however we should be at the tiller in a storm.

Hey...thanks for the responses!

For Antibenzo7...well, I have been recently blessed with finding an American MD who is an expert on all drugs & the Ashton method. Among other things, he is a specialist in weaning addicted patients off drugs. I looked around for a good doc for almost two years. Never expected to find such a jewel. So, he is in charge. All I have to do is follow his instructions & report symptoms...attend med check appointments, etc. Right now, there is no talk about cutting. All my pills are round with a slit down the middle right now. I can snap them in half if I want to...or quarters. If it comes to where there is cutting involved, I will take instructions from him. As per Ashton, based on how I feel, it is my choice when I want to go down further or not. He said that is definitely my choice, not his.

My next appointment with him is not going to be a meds check per se...I'm going to just talk about different concerns & confusion & anxiety I have about the technical stuff...& we'll go over everything. It will prepare me for coming down to 4mgs of V instead of the 5mgs I am on now. From what little I could gather about his long-term Ashton plan for me, he will go from one to the other pill, decreasing them at different times, kind of back & forth. It appears to be extremely complex to me. I am glad I have him. Right now, when I am ready, he will decrease my V by one mg. It really is just one step at a time for me! Baby steps!!  I learn as I go!  :)    Take care!
