Hey all,

Need some support. I have a lots of intrusive thoughts and I am already 20 months off. It's so hard, all of them are violent or self-harm related.

How long it took for you to be gone? Positive words are welcome.

Love you all!

Hey Light,

I'm at around 24 months off and I still suffer from intrusive thoughts. Mine went away for awhile, but they are back with a real intensity at the moment. I don't necessarily have the same intrusive thoughts as you, with any sort of dangerous theme. But I struggle with feeling as though I can't control my thoughts and I just feel like someone that is along for this crazy ride while something else has taken the lead and my brain just goes nuts. This gets better.

3.5 years off and still having intrusive thoughts? Are they about self-harm and hurting others?

I am still having this at 14 months off. I will go try Zoloft or something if this doesn't improve in the future.

Unfortunately I went the rehab route and was taken off of benzos, in 3-4 days. My physical stuff was minimal compared to the intense psychological hell that easily convinces you it will never end. Anxiety depression anguish fear hopelessness intrusive thoughts desperation a potpourri of day in and out of consistent shit storms, I rather not recall. I never knew what crippling anxiety, depression, fear was until I experienced this living hell.

This crap can take quite a long time to begin settling but the good news is, it does. Some sooner some not so soon but it does get better and continues to improve until you begin having days forgetting about Benzo wd. I was scared shitless every time I’d hear of people getting better after 2 years and I still couldn’t sleep and constantly feeling like crap. One thing I feel helps is staying off of supplements and other drugs. We are so compromised by the drug or drugs that even a small dose of Advil can set u back for days. This is not easy but definitely doable. It took me 4 years to begin to realize that I just may make it after all. When you think you can’t do it anymore, you just pull up and keep going. Distraction by working or walking, whatever is what got me through. No

Matter how bad you feel, you keep going. Time That’s the cure
