Disgust and repulsion?

Does anyone have feelings of disgust and repulsion of the stuff of the world.

 

All cooked food looks and feels utterly repulsive to me. Even pictures of it make me feel repulsed and frightened.

 

I also get it with looking at or touching textures such as certain fabrics.

 

When bad it is as if I am phobic of and repulsed by the whole world.

As I get close to the end of month 5 since CT, my I realize repulsiveness about food and fabrics ended in month 4. 

 

We are healing!

Hi there, I have very strange smells, as in things either smell very strong or almost not at all () Anyone else? When I have these strange perceptual---whatever they are---I just remind myself that I used to spend GOOD MONEY in the '60s to experience this!! (wink wink) Don't like it though but I don't really know what "normal" is anymore after 30+ years on Klonapin. Oh well.......

Yes, I have that with smell and also odd smell hallucinations.

 

Also have it with taste.

I had it early in my taper Ajusta.  Shapes particularly.  It's awful, I know.  My sense of taste was altered, but did not seem repulsive.  Had it a bit with textures. 

 

I love turtles, but can remember seeing one early on, and it totally freaked me out.  The whole 'structure' of the thing.  Poor little turtle, can't help what it looks like.  . It's really primal stuff. 

 

It doesn't happen any longer.  I reckon it will pass Ajusta.  For your sake, I hope so. 

 

Ive always understood it as being part of fight or flight. 

 

Haha....At least I would be able to outrun a turtle.

I’ve had it constantly for a year or so but gets worse as dose gets lower.

I had tis one too. Real bad. I was actually SCARED plus repulsed by food. Truly weird. The more I learned about benzo wd the more I understood why. Those weird symptoms are just being caused by your slowly healing brain. All of this stuff eventually goes away. I heard weird things, saw things, smelled things, tasted things that I KNEW were not truly real but at the time, they FELT real. This was so scary to me.

Over time I saw those things slip away, and in MY case, other weird stuff happened.

But in the end, I did heal from a 30 year habit of benzo taking. I survived, and so will you.

This post brings back the memory of when meat totally repulsed me... I forgot that I simply could not eat meat for 4 months. Eased back into it and all is fine now. What a strange symptom! Well... this is all very disconcerting.

Yes, this stuff truly is strange. I went through a few months when ALL foods repulsed or scared me. I recall standing in my kitchen trying to touch a freaking carrot, and could not do it. It scared me and I somehow felt that carrot was "bad."

But the good part is this does go away. Turns oout it is a common benzo wd symptom.
