Persistent very bad cough?

I've had a cough for some years, but more chronic in recent years ,  and since URI in January it is so violent I cough until I pull a muscle, pee, throw up, or feel like getting a hernia.  Can this be benzos/  nah...  years ago had throat scoped and they saw nothing.  Lungs are ok.  It is like bronchial tubes sensitve.  Alwas cough when brush teeth.  If I talk long my voice just disappears.

I don't think it is reflux.  Don't know what ldr is, tho.

Reflux causes a cough even if you don’t feel the acid. !!!

Bronchiectasis cough is a result of long term reflux or recurring infections.

If you have not had a recent chest X-ray please insist on one,

 

Finally some pysch meds mean we get lazy clearing our throat in the normal way and end up with a cough.

Also Ace inhibitors for blood pressure cause a cough by the bye.

Non smoker, not from not clearing throat, not from meds.... could be infectn not resolved but antibiotics really do a number on me.

Have you thought about having a humidifier in your room, The moisture might ease it little. When I have a cough I find it helpful to have a small candle burner in which I put a few menthol crystals, some eucalyptus oil and some water then light the candle underneath. I keep topping it up, with water etc. You would be surprised how soothing it can be on the throat and may ease all that coughing. Just don't fall asleep with the candle lit. I think you can get electric ones too, but mine is just a tee light burner.
