The name says it all.  I have gone from 1mg twice a day to literally nothing in the past three weeks.  All after starting a new job, that I had to call in sick three days during the first week of withdrawals.  I’ve had 15 .5 mg since then to help with withdrawals.  I don’t see my dr until the end of the month so I’m trying to ride it out before I tell him I want to start a taper.  I am literally shaking at the moment.  It’s crazy to think the Drs who prescribed this medication have no idea what it’s like to suddenly go without it.  Trying Kratom, CBD gummies and melatonin to help with sleep.  I feel like none of it truly helps.  This anxiety is crippling and I refuse to go thru this again.

Hello Imtryinghere!

We are very glad that you found us!

I am glad to hear that you want get off the benzo. I am really sorry that you are having such a difficult time. Many of us have found ourselves in similar situation. Some folks have found that a symptom based taper reducing 5 - 10% every 10 - 14 days and holding when necessary helps to keep symptoms manageable. Hopefully your provider will be on board with a resonable taper. Try not to worry, you will find plenty of support here.

I would like to suggest that you do some research on the various boards. Becoming well informed should better enable you to make difficult decisions as well as provide you with the tools you need for a successful taper & recovery.  You will find many knowledgeable members who will support your efforts to be benzo free. I have enclosed a few links below that may help you. Check them out!

Wishing you a smooth taper & speedy recovery!

You don’t say what you have been reducing at an alarming rate.

Please fill in your signature in profile and let us know.

Remember the ten percent rule weekly or every two.

Fast is tempting but can end with more WDrawal than slow

Welcome and good luck

Dick

Welcome to BB!

My opinion ... I would not take those things to help with sleep.  Insomnia is a common WD symptom.
