Mental anxiety at night?

[Li...]

I have to admit that I am seeing a lot of progress in symptoms at around the 2-year mark. I do not suffer from any physical symptoms and I tend to have quite a few windows here and there. It seems like I have 2-day windows and then I'll have a rough week wave, which is definitely an improvement.

But there's something that I don't really understand and it's that I seem to get pretty severe mental anxiety at night for no reason whatsoever. I 'can' get it during the day, but it's not nearly as common and it seems to set in at around the same time each night. I can go an entire day feeling almost normal and not really struggling with any issues, but as soon as 8PM-ish rolls around I begin to experience the weird mental anxiety. It's mostly just a general sense of doom/gloom and fear, brain fog, crazy looping thoughts, difficulty concentrating, trouble thinking, etc.

It's pretty mild compared to what I used to go through during my first year, but it's still really odd that I seem to struggle with this at night. It just feels like this weird disconnection from my mind where my thoughts are fearful and I just feel out of it. It comes on out of nowhere and without any trigger and I'm pretty much just stuck in it until the next day when I wake up.

Anyone else experience this?

My worst time of the day is around 4-7pm.  I can only speculate that it has to do with cortisol?

It's odd for sure. Woke up this morning and it was completely gone. It's definitely some sort of extreme chemical anxiety, because it's like clockwork everyday but I cant bring it on at all during the day. That's a definite improvement because I remember feeling insane 24/7. I think my baseline has improved because I feel really close to normal during the day, but it makes it more difficult when it rears up during waves and at night.
