Disconnected from my thoughts

My symptoms have morphed into something worse than before.  I am having hyperawareness of my thoughts really bad but this time my thoughts feel "foreign" or distant.  I know they are my own thoughts but they feel like a threat or something.  Like I don't want them in my head.

This is beyond imaginable how much worse this gets the further I am off.

Can anyone relate?

Yes

I only get out of this with meeting and talking to folk.

I think benzos isolate us in a mental and physical way.

Best wishes

Dick

I absolutely know what you're talking about. There's a weird mental disconnect that withdrawal caused for me and when I'm in a wave it feels like I'm just a host to something else and no longer in complete control of my mind. It's nothing I've ever felt before this entire withdrawal experience. I remember early on I used to worry that now that I'd unlocked pandora's box that there would be no way I'd ever forget or be able to get out of it.. But it just happens overtime as you heal.

I know they’re scary but those are just intrusive thoughts - hence why they’re called intrusive. Because even though you can tell the thoughts come from your own brain, it doesn’t feel like you are the one that thought them. It’s a very common symptom of anxiety and especially OCD. You are fine, buddy. It’s a common WD symptom and they will go away.
