Just went to Dr to have IUD removed, yep maybe TMI but im pulling all the strings (haha literally) now trying to help myself get better, anyways. on the way there (Passenger) my perception of things is off, completely off. feels as if im in a spaceship and we are flying through town, yep I see the cars passing, how are they all driving so carefully and even able to drive WTF!!! then while at drs clinic my head feels as if its not attached, dr talking to me and feels off, then the dizziness hits, and its not just dizziness its the weird head stuff that makes me feel awful. guys there's just no way of describing what im going through. here's the kicker. on my way home the same outer space trippy feeling is going on, right when we get home I have to retreat to my room where my head is sooooo overstimulated that it feels like a mixture of a brain in a blender im trying to process things and a pre seizure complete overload feeling. this time the overstimulation took about 45 mins to come back to "normal" what the hellllllll is this??????? at a year off I still cant handle the stimuli of being in a car, bright outside? at a year off? yes anxiety adds to this. I get anxious and panicky when I feel like this. I try to do mindfulness or grounding things but when my brain is that far gone nothing I do brings it back until im in my dark quiet room. im 37, mom of 3 one is a 3 yr old that I cant take care of. this is just crazy. is this some form of a sick joke on panic attacks or is this permeant Gaba receptors damage that at a year off its getting significantly worse. I want to LIVE my life!!! is it honestly normal to be this sensitive to stimuli at a year off and non functioning.

IUD...for those of you women that have an IUD, 8% can have anxiety, plus the progestin (synthetic progesterone) does not work on the gaba so can affect gaba receptors.

IF I am reading you right, you have been off benzos a year....? How was the first few months off? What has changed? Are you on any other meds?

I think you are describing Derealization or Depersonalization, psychiatric terms for some truly weird sensations and thoughts. That "outer space" feeling tells me that.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I know it isn't easy. It might help you to read the first couple pages of my Success Story. It got oved to Buddie Blogs, but it remains my SS. I went CT off a boatload of benzos and ADs. And I took benzos nightly for 30 years. THIRTY YEARS.

My SS got moved to Buddie Blogs for some reason but it remains my SS. Go to Buddie Blogs and scroll down till you find "Eastcoast's Trip." I write in it often but the first few pages will tell you that you are NOT alone in how bad and weird you feel. Unfortunately, this stu9ff is commo9n during WD.

Just do not give up, as your life can become SO much better off benzos.

Congratulations on your 1 year Benzo free!  sorry your suffering still, but your symptoms sound like normal Protracted Withdrawal.. It seems like you have a grip on what some of your triggers are, so maybe you can head some anxiety off- Hang in there & Stay Strong!

Hello HI01

I read your post with interest , I am 8 weeks out and experiencing various w/d symptoms to many to list and I’m sure you had most anyway. I was interested in what you said about 8% of women finding that the IUD has caused anxiety . I have a Mirena coil and have read that it can cause anxiety , I was put on diazepam for anxiety, I have wondered about this , have you noticed a decrease in anxiety since having it removed ?

The dizziness you feel in situations I can totally get I get it too I even feel nauseous in my head I’m told it’s anxiety and w/d.

Hope you are doing better and well done for being Benzo Free for a year , great job and great you have grounding techniques.

PO
