Welcome to Benzo Buddies! You are not the first person to relapse and begin taking benzos again.  We'll be happy to help and give you good information so you can plan a sensible taper. Hopefully, this will be the one that will stick and you won't feel the need to return to taking them again.

 

We'll need some additional information in order to provide information based on your unique situation.  What benzo are you taking and at what dose?

 

Generally, a slow taper can help to minimize withdrawal symptoms. A reduction of no more than 5-10% every 10-14 days is suggested.  I'll give you a link to the General Taper Plans for additional information.

 

I'll also give you a link to the Ashton Manual. It is an excellent resource about these types of drugs and how to withdraw. The manual was written by Dr. Heather Ashton, an expert in the field.
