Jaw tightness

[Aj...]

Recommended Posts

I know a lot of ppl have this but a I wonder about the kind of tightness ppl have.

My teeth are not clenched or touching.

The tightness is in my upper jaw and just feels clenched tight all the time.

It feels like it is creating the ‘nails down a blackboard’ effect from sounds and when looking at textures as of the jaw being stuck in that position is constantly causing that effect.

AJUSTA: Since you have reinstated, it can be difficult to compare.

Maybe, your symptoms belong to your basic disease? And a dentist can help you?

You have written that you now feel better, and this makes me happy! :)

I don’t think reinstating is going to help.

The dose is hardly touching all the extreme muscle problems I have developed from WD.

When on it for 20 years I didn’t have most of this.

Without it my surgery site is horrendous and my severe sciatica is unbearable.

I was on it from prior to the surgery for that.

For 20 years I never noticed it wearing off.

It’s duration of action is 4-6 hours so if this was my underlying issue I would have noticed it wearing off all that time.

I think my muscles and spine have been severely damaged by withdrawal and the constant twisting and contracting it has caused.

But if the diazepam is not going to help it now there is no point in continuing to take it.

I will have to try Dantrolene which is a horrible drug that relaxes my underlying muscles so much so can’t stand up and works about as well as the diazepam on the spasm.

I just have to hope that some of the severe tightness is WD and will ease eventually.

So, are you still tapering the Valium or not? I am confused. How much valium are you still on or have you stopped it completely? I do not have the jaw tightness. Most of my tightness is concentrated in my chest and stomach.

I would keep tapering to zero. I am in the same boat as you. Taking the drug does not work and only makes you sicker. I know it feels like you are caught between a rock and a hard place. I am now on 1 mg and I feel a lot better even tho I still have lots of sx's. I think if you can get off and stay off for awhile, things do start to slowly improve over time but getting there can feel impossible when you feel like you are dying each day. Desperation then sets in as your brain and body start screaming out for the drug.

It is my spinal stuff that I was on it for that is the problem.

All my back muscles are so contracted it is forcing vertebra out of place and bowing my spine out.
