  so, is feeling scrambled and imprisioned in your own brain a part of tapering?  is anxiety?  is lack of sleep?  is short term memory loss?  is obtrusive thoughts.  brain seems to want to talk and talk and talk while trying to sleep.  is mental confusion and dizziness.  is feeling like you are going crazy and may never be normal again?  and , i never ever had agorophobia in my life, but, now i have it.  and is fear?  is fear this is never going to end part of it?  and most imporant, will it ever end?  and what happens if it doesn't end and this is all permanent?    i am scared. ty for any answers and support.

This post would probably do better in the progress log thread for those that r currently in the process of tapering. Also what u describe sounds completely normal when dealing with benzo wd & recovery, so try not to latch on to the idea that this is permanent, that’s just what the benzo’s do to ur brain.

Tapering is a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Take it slow and easy. Listen to your body and take as long as you need to stabilize. All of the symptoms you spoke of are definitely normal. In my case, a DLMT really helped to dampen the symptoms.

However you do it, getting off benzos can be frightfully bad. Does not seem to matter HOW you do it, either.

Benzos chemically numb the Fear Center of your brain. This reduces anxiety and might help you got to sleep better. But OH what a huge price we pay for this.

There is a whole section of BB devoted to taper people.This area is for people who have gone cold turkey.

But that really does not matter, as it takes a while to figure out how this forum works. And everyone here does want to help you.
