Can't feel my body

Hey everyone,

I was CT'ed off Klonopin 4 years ago and went through hell. I mostly recovered except for minor anxiety, occasional panic attacks, still quite a bit of fog and DP/DR though.

Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago I had a panic attack that sent me to the ER. It was very physical in nature, I couldn't feel my body, the room was spinning, I passed out from what I was told was hyperventilation.

In the ER they gave me one dose of Ativan which helped calm me down. I was good for 2 days (presumably while the Ativan was still in my system) but on the 3rd day I started having uncontrollable panic attacks daily. The doctor described it as an anxiety loop and prescribed Xanax.

I was given .25mg of Xanax which I would cut in half and only take one half of it, so .125 of Xanax anywhere from 1-3 times a day for 8 days. I stopped the Xanax because I didn't want to go through withdrawals again and the Xanax was giving me excruciating forehead pain and intrusive thoughts.

Unfortunately I think I'm setback and going through a "withdrawal" again. I'm having heightened anxiety, difficulty breathing (constantly having to take deep breaths to get a satisfying one despite oximeter saying I'm at 100%), pins and needles, dissociation, more DP/DR, feeling of I'm dying, my body feels weightless ALL THE TIME it feels like I'm leaving my body, right arm feels detached, forehead pain and pressure and tingling, and I can barely walk. I feel weak and dizzy.

I shouldn't have taken the Xanax but I didn't know what else to do, the panic attacks were very physical and felt like a chemically induced attack instead of my normal attacks.

Any advice/encouragement is appreciated. Thank you.

Yeah looks like you might have to go through it a little bit again. If you made it out once it should be easy to stay positive about your second time hopefully. If you really need something for anxiety, why not take hydroxyzine instead? Its basically benadryl. So wont cause a dependence supposedly. I have it sitting around for the occasional panic attack. Just dont take meds daily. Safer that way. A week of xanax is enough to get even a first time user messed up.

Thank you for responding. In ways it’s not as bad as before but others it’s worse. I wasn’t on a high dose and it was only a week so I’m praying I bounce back quick.

I actually do have Hydroxyzine! It has been helpful for attacks but it dehydrates TF out of me haha and I feel like I’m asleep but not asleep when it finally knocks me out. Kinda weird.

Thank you for taking the time out to encourage me, I appreciate you

King,

This sounds horrible scary!  I’m only in month 5 since Xanax CT, I never want another one.

Hope things calm down for you, soon.
