Anyone with a problem in hair dyeing?

Recommended Posts

I dye my hair for 30 years and I never had a problem.

Now, whatever dye I use, immediately after my head is filled with little pimples.

I went to a dermatologist but did not find a skin problem,

just told me not to dye my hair, but I do not want it.

Is there a possibility that this is a w/d symptom?

you'd be surprised at how many things get out of wack with just no reason for it I just went to ear doctor for the tinnitus and ears feeling plugged up with nothing wrong, no fluid or infection. So sick of feeling things that aren't there. Bumps sound weird though who the hell knows. Nice and easy babe best hair color I ever used and the price is reasonable too I hope it clears up for you. Take Care.

Pleasure1711, I put a rinse on  my hair that gradually washes out over time. I used to use it to brighten up my dishwater blond hair and cover any stray gray hairs that appeared. Never any problem with it.  Then I switched to having my hair highlighted at the hairdresser's and had not used the Clairol rinse for half dozen years. My mother fell and broke her hip before Christmas and beings she lives 600 miles away and I was in a hurry go home before she had her hip replaced (she turned 99 the day after she got a new hip) I ran to Sally's and bought a bottle and put it on in-between two trips to be with her. I stopped sleeping for approximately a week after I used the rinse!!! I know that I was under stress, but staying at her home and driving the 40 minutes to the hospital every day and being dead tired each night, I should have slept at least some.

Anyway, when I went back to my hairdresser for a professional color, she told me of one of her clients who had terrible nightmares after coloring her own hair.

I won't use the in home hair color rinses anymore.

During my taper and since I have been off of benzos, I find my skin is super sensitive along with many other things.

Take care.

I am glad someone brought this up , I was going to ask the same thing . My three strands that I have left ( it came out in handfulls right after taper was through ) are way past my waist and are usually sun blonde . I am now mostly gray in the 5 months I have been at the end of taper and after . My CNS is not in good shape . After reading this I think I will wait awhile longer then maybe go to the shop to have it done instead of at home.  I have struggled so hard .

I actually switched to using Henna during my taper cause of skin irritation when I colored my hair with a regular box that I would buy at the store.  I've had zero problems with Henna and honestly wish I had switched sooner.

I haven't tried dying my hair but I know the sensation of my scalp is more sensitive. I was complaining about this so much during acute w/d. I loved showering to feel better but when I got out I couldn't stand the feel of my wet hair on my scalp so much that I kept wanting to just chop all my long hair off. Its still bothers me from time to time.  When I'm a little further along in w/d I'm going to not cut it all off but get a nice haircut and hopefully not feel this sensation like my hair is this weight upon my head.

My shoulder length (what’s left of it) hair feels like bricks.  I’m in month 5 since CT and my scalp is still numb like most of my body :( I do good to shampoo my hair (hands numb also).

I’ve been allergic to hair color for 4 years (maybe benzo related)??  However, I could go to the salon and have my hair bleached with no problem ...  (except sitting in the chair long enough).

I hope I can use hair color after withdrawal...

I have been having some issues with hair dye especially the permanent hair dye. So, I switched to the kind that comes out after 28 washes and while that has been better it still caused my scalp to itch for a few days. The permanent dye burned very badly while using it. I have also had issues with my hair feeling like it weighs a ton. I thought it was just me so I was glad to hear others have this too. I recently just cut off a lot of my hair due to this feeling. It is better now but it still feels like it weighs a lot. I am not sure why. I am considering just allowing my hair to go gray.
