Having non-stop, awful heart palpitations all day. Used to be sporadic but now almost 24/7. Anyone know what can help?

Malak85, how long have you had the heart palps. These can be some of the most distressing, anxiety provoking sx's. I was having them a lot but lately, they seem to have let up some to my delight. I know it might seem counter-intuitive but light to moderate aerobic exercise helps if you can tolerate. When I was having them really bad daily, I continued to ride my stationary bike 20 mins each day. Now for the past two weeks, I have had virtually none while decreasing my valium from 2.5 mgs to 1.5 mgs. It does get better. I know it does not seem like it sometimes when you are withdrawing from these horrid drugs but it does.

I agree gentle exercise is great for aborting palpitations.

I assume your doc has done Ekg.

You might try D-ribose.  It's a powder you mix into drinks.  Google it for more info.  Take at least 5 grams a day. You want the kind with the scoop. I don't think you get enough of it if you get the pills. It can also help with fatigue.  It's one of the awesome foursome things Dr. Sinatra recommends for heart patients. Google. :)

Thank you. I will try D Ribose - I’ve been using propranarol intermittently but the heads palps have gotten so bad that even propranarol won’t touch them, and I want to be careful with Rx meds. Heart palps tend to intensify in periods of stress and anxiety, but I’ve had them pretty much all throughout my taper. They Have just gotten intolerable over the past week.

Your sig. line says you successfully detoxed 1mg of K in 2015 before starting valium in 2016. Were you having the palps when you were detoxing from the K?

No, I had a very easy taper off the 1 mg of K. Except for anxiety and DP / DR, I was symptom free. I didn’t even really taper. Just quit CT. The Valium is what got me really messed up and I’m suffering ever since. Now down to 2 mg but symptoms have been HELL throughout the taper.

I had bad palpitations in the beginning.  They have subsided significantly.  I was told magnesium really helps.  I just waited it out.  I still have a bit of tachycardia at times but I haven't had any palpitations in a few months.
