Considering my history and total dosage, could I jump next week?

Details in my sig.  Although total number of klonopin taken has went up by 2 or 3 pills at this point.

I took .50 for two days.  I'm on my 2nd day of .25.  I was thinking of either trying another dose of .25 tonight or maybe cutting to 1/4th (.125) of a pill and seeing how I do with it.  Considering my two failed c/t attempts, I feel like I'm handling the cuts well, and I honestly wonder how much of the failure at c/t was mental vs physical.  I read all of the worst possible outcomes and side effects before trying it and it triggered my anxiety to 100 out of 100, so every sensation was terrifying for me.

Also, I took omeprazole the last two days bc the klonopin had made my throat unbearable, and it worked wonders.  I didnt take any today.  My only symptoms are some shaking, feeling a bit flush/numb in arms, hands, and face, and a few rushes of anxiety, but nothing like it was in my c/t attempts, which caused uncontrollable crying spells.

I even was able to get up and sit upright for 4+ hours straight yesterday and I'm having occasional feelings of hunger again and able to eat small meals, but still have to get my calories up a bit more (about 400-600 more) to maintain.

So, sorry for all of the details, but do you think if I have a couple more days of feeling stable on .25 then .125, would I be safe to make the jump after .125mg next week?  Any suggestions on anything I can supplement with once I get there?  I've read benadryl?

Hi Victory,

I'm glad you're feeling pretty good. That's always a good thing.

Do you know that .5 K is like 10 Valium? There is a chart in the Ashton book that is based on half lives of the benzos.

Only you can tell what you can handle or what works for you. We all react differently. Some people do not even experience side effects when stopping benzos.

For myself, I got down to .5 Xanax (short half life like K) and quickly to .25 and then stopped. I was sick before from the tapering but got really bad with the sudden drops and stopping.

Ultimately I began back at .5 with titration (making a liquid) which was much easier to do than I anticipated. I spent a ton of time stressing on that. The slower taper (still fairly fast based on how I feel) is going well. I have some s/x but tolerable.

Whatever you decide, I wish you the very best. Do know that things are not set in stone. If something doesn't work, you can regroup and try something different. It took me a while to find my footing as it seems to for many.

You can do this!
