Are headaches a typical symptom after being off benzos for months?

I am wondering if this headache I have for 36 hours is a new symptom or something else?  I never had much headaches during tapering.  But here I am, 8 months after zero benzo, and strange headaches for a couple of weeks.

If it lasts another week suggest see medic for check over. Unless of course it gets worse the reckon go earlier. @))

I am reluctant to blame all things on withdrawal. We could miss something important!

Hope it settles

While in tolerance wd I started getting horrible migraines. They would last up to 48 hrs sometimes. The pressure would get so bad that I would have to barricade myself into a dark room & bury my head into a pillow praying that it would go away. The headaches have completely subsided for me now & I haven’t had one in almost 5 month’s. Instead of a headache I just get like a weird sensation that’s almost a numbness in the same spots right above my temples the wraps around my head. It almost feels like I have some sort of hat that’s too small on top of my head but the pressure has gone away. Just an annoying feeling. Some days it completely goes away so I know that it’s getting better. I’ll b so glad when I go my first month without having any weird head sensations or numbness.

Is it a headache or head pressure? I have had nonstop head pressure since Jan and I am almost 10 months out. I was on a baby dose of Clonazepam and only took it daily for 7 months. :( I don’t drink or smoke and can’t believe I trusted a doctor to give me this poison for “panic disorder”. Crazy thing is since I stopped the meds, anxiety is almost nonexistent now.

I got headaches after coming off benzos. My worst one lasted 6 days with the worst pain imaginable in my ear and head. :/

Yes, me too! After 5 months off I've started having morning headaches every other day...

But then I take an Advil and it's over..

Bob7,

Not sure, as I am still taking K. It’s possible, but good idea to see headache specialist. A single migraine can last weeks, and may need to break cycle. Can you take Aleve or Advil? Tart cherry juice and fresh ginger help my headaches, sometimes. Hope you feel better.

Best,

If the headache is sort of on top of your head, feels almost like you have been wearing a headset for too long, then it is likely from benzo.

Headaches are usually of the "tension headache" type, due to contraction of muscles at the back of the neck, scalp and forehead - often described as a "tight band around the head".

Thank you everyone responding to help me.  Strange to have a new symptoms after 8 months off.  The headaches are not horrible just a bummer.  I am learning new ways to cope - less stress reduces headache.
