Nightshades

[El...]

Recommended Posts

I am noticing a connection between an increase in symptoms and eating alot of nightshades, particularly white potatoes.it seems I feel crappier the next day and sometimes for two or three days. My bp increases my head hurts more, my anxiety seems worse, my muscles ache and hurt more. Everything just seems worse.

Anyone else ever notice this before?

My diet does not allow nightshades. They cause inflammation and other things I do not want. Once I learned to eat the way I do today, I did not believe that. Half a year without any nightshade and I felt so much better!

There are so many other healthy foods - just avoid them :smitten:

Thank you for responding! Can I ask what kind of diet you follow?

I eat very clean and avoid processed food. Also many foods that are high in naturally occuring glutamate bother me if I eat to much or cook them to long.

Potatoes contain solanine and can aggravate arthritis. I discovered this when I had a severe neck injury that required surgery, every tine I ate chips or potatoes my pain skyrocketed.

I've been avoiding them for years. I still don't know if there's any actual science to back up the various claims, but I don't miss them anyway -- tomatoes, white potatoes, eggplant, zucchini, peppers.

Unless I'm missing something, it looks like you have to buy the book to figure out what to eat / not to eat.... always interested in good diets. And yes, in the process of cutting out nightshades completely. Do you still eat bread or any other carbs? thks,

Potatoes tear me up . Make me feel like I am going to explode. They did not do this before my last dose. I have tried , chips , mashed and potato soup . I give up . I want some badly but it feels like something sharp in my gut . Really rough . I also just got my husband to leave me alone about taking a small can of low sodium v8 every morning also . It does have a very high potassium level that I need but jeez I feel like I am on fire .

Yeah that is sad that one needs to buy a book to get information, I always tell him but he is too busy traveling the world an teaching it he says.  :idiot:

Yes, I still eat carbs, but gluten-free and bread that is made only with natural sourdoug, without yeast. But mainly you have a bowl in front of you like asians have, with a lot of different food in:-)

Nightshades can give me rashes when I'm in a wave.

Spent month 2-3 having horrible inflammation issues.

I still try  to avoid nightshades, because I too am sensitive.
