I Jumped!! Took my last dose of Valium tonight!! Here is how I did it (taper)

Oh my gosh, it’s finished. Last April, I put 2 and 2 together, and realized that Valium (taken as prescribed) for muscle spasms post surgery was giving me horrific tolerance/interdose withdrawal. My feet and legs burned so badly that I could barely walk. I cut WAY too fast from 10-5, and then a little slower from 5-2mg.

I thought I would taper until the end of June:) April 2018-June-2018. Yeah right! I started liquid microtapering in June from 1.5.

I have been on .25 and then .2 just today, for around 9 days. I am done.

My constant and worst symptom has been headaches. I had to get Botox for migraine in December, after I had a headache every day for 6 months. I got Botox again in March. It helps some, not completely. I also take propranolol for headaches.  It sure how much it helps, but every little bit makes them better.

I have tried eating a keto diet a few times, and it seemed to help, but I didn’t stick with it. I have gone between extreme nausea and vomiting, and extreme sugar cravings during my taper. So keto was tough! However, this past week I decided that I had to do everything I could to help make the jump easier.

I’m eating keto now, taking curcumin, l-theanine, fish oil, trying to get sunshine every day, stretches every day, and I just got a massage and booked physical therapy. I’m going to work on taking really good care of my body physically, in hopes that it will help me heal completely.

I can sleep pretty well. And general anxiety isn’t a problem. I will have panicky days, but then they pass. My symptoms are almost completely physical. Severe physical pain in some form.

Ok!! Tomorrow is day 1 with no benzos, hallelujah!!
