Me - Panic Disorder, panic attacks, severe GAD.

Do you fear a return of the problem you had once benzo detox has been completed?

panic attacks (many a day), anxiety and lots of trips to the ER with sky high blood pressure and chest pain.

I do have thoughts that it might come back, but I'll just have to live with it.  At the time, I didn't know what in the world the panic attacks were and now that I know, I trust I will be able to minimize them should they return.

You already know about my situation, but i want to add to the thread anyway :)

Severe GAD and panic attacks.

The GAD and panic is already back with a vengeance, 3.5 years off K. I'm now absolutely dysfunctional.

PTSD from the trauma of being in an abusive relationship with someone who lacked a conscience.

I didn’t know what cluster b disorders were; or anything about what is termed narcissism, sociopathy and psychopathy.

No real awareness, just thought “those kinds” of people were only on the news and in movies or in stories... like in books.

I don’t fear these kinds of people anymore, and I don’t judge them. I forgive him. I’ve done my homework so I don’t fear the return of the problem.

Thank you for asking.

ER visit for asthma attack, given prednisone burst, week after Pred, got 3 episodes of severe tachycardia, to dr office, misdiagnosed as anxiety attack. Given 2 mg Ativan and turned loose until I went into tolerance 9 mos later, then given K ostensibly for life he said, tolerated after 8 months on 3 mg.

That's terrible. Duped by an incompetent doctor.

Severe anxiety. Constant anxiety attacks. Many ER trips. Irrational fears. Phobias. Agoraphobia.  I don’t really fear those things because they never left. Klonopin didn’t help my issues. Just numbed the pain at night. As far as I’m concerned it can’t get worse than this taper.

I'm still wondering.

The nurse gave me a written test which I think was for depression. She came in and asked if I'd cheated or taken it before. I told her, "No. Another nurse gave me the answers."

Doctor wrote a script for anxiety (or perhaps smart-assery) - Klonapin. I figured out it was addictive when I ran out so asked to switch to something as needed that was not addictive. That was Xanax. Argh.

This doctor lost his license for over prescribing opiates. One guy got 1000 in one month and died. Who knows how many benzo addicts he created. That had not made the news yet and still is not mentioned around here.

Muscle spasm in my back due to a growth in spinal canal ,took it for 6 weeks prior to surgery. Surgery very successful so stopped taking it, all hell broke loose and I had a stroke. Thank god I recovered, I will never take another pill unless it is to literally save my life.

Severe GAD, panic attacks and OCD tendencies. However I'm pretty sure all of these developed after stopping and starting antidepressants years ago. Before that, I had one panic attack at the movie theater in 2011.  Been downhill ever since.

Finished taper, but thought this an important thread:  It's, also, always a hope of mine that the Benzodizepene Information Coalition will have staff members/researchers reading here.  Do take their surveys.  It's also a hope of mine they'll get the word out to media to begin labelling benzo. usage & withdrawal as drug dependency & not drug addiction.  There needs to be that distinction.

Ativan: PainNeuropathy (Not from diabetes): other.

Fibromyalgia.  Very painful trigger points.

1 physiatrist (pain medicine specialist) had prescribed klonopin years' earlier; never took it...@ that time, had my wits about me more & researched.  About 5 years later, another dr. prescribed the ativan; had no idea in same medical class as klonopin, or never would have taken it.  Was on steroids (rx'd; not abused; didn't abuse anything) @ time, so didn't get knocked out.

Never had anxiety or depression issues, until tolerance w/d sxs began.

I was dx with Bil Meniere's, and ENT advised the drug of choice was Valium to help with the sx. Never had any relief of extreme dizziness or Tinnitus, it just made me dependent. So here I am tapering, then when off going to put on my medical files that I am allergic to Benzo's, never want to take them again ever.!! 💖 Peace and Healing.

I got on benzo when my neuro tapered me too fast from my topamax. I went into withdraw from the topamax and I didnt know that it was WD. So my primary care doctor gave me xanax to deal with the WD i was having from the other medicine.

Because doctors dont have a clue about WD and multiple doctors dont work together.
