Does anyone find mornings really awful?

I'm just curious about other people's experiences. Since as long as I can remember during this taper, I've found that I feel the worst I do all day first thing in the am when I wake up. I'm taking Klonopin, so I imagine that this might be unique to non diazapem drugs between doses.

So I might be jerked awake at 4 am or at 7, but it immediately begins --heart pounding, sometimes sweating, etc, with a sick feeling or a knot in my stomach. My body aches a bit like I'm hungover (which I'm most definitely not), and my thoughts immediately start racing. It takes everything I can do every single day to get out of bed to watch my daughter. I'm just curious about other people's morning experiences.

I'm hopefully 2-2.5 months from being done on my taper, so I look forward to getting this out of my system for good and my autonomic nervous system calming down a bit.

Yep Takingontitration, the hell seems to begin for me the moment I open my eyes after sleep in the mornings. Even when I manage to get a decent night of sleep and have a window that day, the wave is usually back the next morning. I hate it. I hope this will change eventually.  :'(

Hi TakingOn, yes there is another thread out there somewhere about this. I’m also taking Klonopin and the morning is the worst. Heart racing, morbid thoughts, the feeling I can only describe as withdrawal. Anxiety and dread. Once I get up it’s a bit better. As the day goes on I usually feel better as I go until the evening when I feel partially normal. The evenings are the best. I often times feel better throughout the day the busier I am. This is mainly when I’m taoering. If I’m holding then mornings are fairly normal I believe. Or at least not as bad. Today was bad. I think I hit 40 days to go today. Getting closer. Looking forward to happy mornings.

For years I have had early morning waking with terror and suicidal thoughts.

Reducing diaz and seroquel and so usually get 6 hours and up early to feed dog etc --mind less petrified

Hope it improves for you too

......wanted to share some hope for all those struggling with horrid mornings which mine have been since reinstating for this final taper.

I'm 51/2 months off and feeling morning improvements this past week.  Instead of the burning, inner vibrations and full body electrocution and muscle pain lasting for hours and hitting at 3 am, it arrives later in the morning during the liminal stage of sleep and resolves within an hour or as soon as I get up and move around.

And to note, the only variable I've changed in the past month is completely eliminating sugar and reducing my carbs to under 30 but have no idea if there is a causal relationship.  I'm just grateful for a week of torture lite mornings!
