19 months out and fighting dizziness, imbalance & motion sickness. Anybody else

It seems everyday is a struggle to not get stressed about how dizzy I am.

I'm fighting imbalance and running into door facings and furniture.

Having trouble looking around and especially looking down and them up really causes me a wave of "whoa, what was that?"

Anybody else?

Does anything help?

Having those aggravating "lighting bolts" as well!

Hey I'm with your this just goes on and on . two years off and I'm still having issues. How is that even possible. I had dizziness way back before benzos. I can't tell you exactly where I saw it but look up realigning inner ear crystals sounds hooky but it cured me. I'll pray you find it. I'm going to look for it right now

Couple of questions for ya- 1) Have you ever taken, or are you taking an SSRI? In my personal experience, decreasing my dose and stopping an ssri years ago caused severe balance issues- very dizzy! For a really, really long time. It eventually just faded and went away!

2) Have you been to see an ENT? Even if this will end because it’s still withdrawal, there are exercises you can do to help your inner ear. My husband has severe dizziness, his whole life, due to nervous system upregulation actually! And, a vestibular weakness on his right side. They can do tests, so which ear is worse, and there are even apps on your phone! It hasn’t to do with training your eyes and training your body to balance again. My husband practiced standing and walking with his eyes closed.

It’s a little more complicated than that, but you get the picture- there are things that people do to help their body learn how to balance. Might be worth trying! Like exercise for muscles, there are ear and eye exercises for balance:)

No SSRI in my past and I agree with the crystal issue as it acts up when looking down and them back up.

I'll do a little research as to how a treatment for it.

When the lights go out at night its at the worse.

I have to hold onto the furniture for my bearing or I'll fall.

You probably have displaced otolith crystals.  This problem can be corrected by the Epley maneuver.  An ENT specialist or even a qualified physical therapist can do it.  Good luck.
