How about, “1 mg. of klonopin is a low dose”? It’s not like Valium.”  No, it is stronger. And, when you taper, you get, “it must have been working for you” when the terrible symptoms come.  Benzos steal lives. Esperanza

Yes, I got the comment "your withdrawal symptoms are not withdrawal - they are your condition and it needs to be treated with Benzo".

I can say NOT True.  I have been off the Benzo for 14 weeks now and I feel so much better.  Those symptom were withdrawal.

Yes I still have some anxiety.  Yes it does affect my sleep.  But both are so much better today versus during the withdrawal phase.

I can deal with my anxiety and withdrawal without Benzo.

How do you taper when your BP Skyrockets and won't come down?  Three bp meds so far and no help.  I called the doctor today again, they are having trouble getting hold of him and I fear I could have a stroke, seizure or heart attack while they decide to call me back and call in another medication.  See my signature.  I'm stuck.  I'd gladly trade for anxiety or nausea or any of those symptoms over this.

Are you able to measure your own blood pressure?  If so, what is the value?

 

Also remember, blood pressure varies greatly if you do not do it exactly right:  Do it this way:

  (1) Sit in chair, quiet for 5 minutes.

  (2) Make sure both feet are flat on floor

  (3) Make sure your arm is resting on something and your arm is at heart level

  (4) Make sure to use the corrent cuff size - too small gives high readings.

 

My blood pressure varies by 30 points if I do it wrong.

I’m wondering g this because my muscle spasm is horrendous and was why Iwas on it.

 

Now have all these other symptoms on top of the physical problems.

 

Problem is it feels so horrible when I take my dose now a I simply don’t know if my brain can process the drug in the same way now.

Bob, I know all that.  My BP was 197/115.  I took it at home, doctor took it, it was the same, later on it was 202/111 in the ER.  It was high all the time for three solid weeks day and all night.  Doctor was worried about damage to my body.

I’m so sorry your blood pressure is so high. The trouble with blood pressure issues is you start worrying about it and that makes it worse.

I do think my blood pressure has been much better since I got off the benzo‘s .

There was a definite time during my worst withdrawl symptoms that it was erratic and high .
