I've been in this wave for about 5 weeks now, starting in month 4 and it just doesn't seem to be letting up. I've had days where it's not AS bad, but I've just been stuck in this horrible, crippling mental state. Obsessive thinking that I can't control, intrusive thoughts, severe anxiety, breathing problems, severe depression and insomnia, hopelessness, thoughts that is all me and my anxiety/mental issues, feeling like I will never get better, personality changes and fog, inability to think clearly or rationally, inability to accept that this withdrawal, feeling like my brain has been hijacked and I can't control how I feel or think, etc.

It's just been a damn mess and I feel like I'm going insane and feel like giving up half the time. I don't think I would be here if not for my family.

I've had a setback that's lasted six months. It hasn't been the same intensity the entire time, but I wasn't like this before May...except acute the first half of last year. I can feel I'm slowly coming out of it.

Words of wisdom: avoid stress as much as you can. It can trigger waves. If you can't avoid it (no one can entirely), manage it as calmly as you can.

Hi liveaboutit , Ive been in a wave for a little of a month now too. It's a bad one, it's just like acute. I feel like I've taken 3 steps backwards. I was starting to feel a little better in month 3 and had a few nice windows but now just darkness. I've read people who are further along say months 4-6 are some of the worst. I'm hoping I'll turn a corner soon, I hope you do too, this is horrible, it's not a life at all.

So sorry that you are having a hard wave, Sunshine. It really is dreadful.. The newest symptom that I have developed, the air hunger, is almost unmanageable.. Really excited for this one to go away, so I don't have to feel like I have to control every breath. But yeah, this wave feels exactly like acute to me, too.
