Do you recommend for withdrawals?

Been on and off it 3 times for short periods like a month at a time. Now after 18months I tried to get off and anxiety went into orbit. The other 3 times I was on it for short periods I noticed no w/d's.

I personally would never take it again. The withdrawal from it is horrific, but I had issues even being on it. I've never been depressed until I got on Remeron.

Well, for me, it has helped immensely. I sleep well and it has helped with GI issues. Since I am still tapering klonopin I have not yet tried to stop remeron, but honestly, I am not sure if I ever will taper it if it continues to help with sleep.

 

Many people seem to have a hard time getting off; others not so much. That is all I know is that I need to sleep to be functional, and I would rather be on the remeron than need to up and up my dose of klonopin. I have never slept well, not even as a child. I am now 48.

 

Many gain weight with it, I have not. I did gain a boatload while on lexapro though.

You can get tolerant and need to up dosage for Remeron as well. I've never had any crazy WD from it YET, but I've also been using as needed and the smallest possible dose (3.75). I have noticed however, it doesn't help me sleep as long as it used to and I'm no longer sluggish or super groggy in the morning when taking it now.

I have been at the same dose for more than a year and haven't noticed any "poop out." I realize everyone is different. I cannot worry about tolerance with another drug--just trying to take it one day at a time and there is no way I can get off klonopin without something to help me sleep. I have a kid in college, another in private school and I need to continue working full time no matter what. We all have to make the choices that work best in our own situations.
