Since the detox my shoulders have become knotted horribly, my back won't physically allow my muscles to let go and my chest bone is so tight it's like the muscles are pulling me forward. I'm just in constant pain and take nothing. I stretch try baths and use a heating pad but tell me please, when did this stop for you. Im really hurting frequently and it would be nice to hear from those that conquered this all sxs.

I wish I could tell you that this is better but it's not.  I do, however, get little windows of relief.  I try to accept it & I do my best to treat it & keep hoping one day it will get better.  I'm sorry you're in pain.

Hell, thanks for being honest at least. The only bright side is that being in so much pain all the time just makes my pain tolerance out of this world so I can handle pretty much anything from here on out. Suffer fest 2017!!!

Hey there,

I had the same thing. Muscles were tensed all the time and would not release. I found cold compresses help. Then one day.. poof! It was gone! Waiting for to happen with some of my other symptoms. I remember when I was off at the 3 month mark all muscle cramping was gone. It will happen for you too and you will be shocked as to how it just disappeared.

That's great news, Fighting, thanks.  I have the same pain that you're describing, TwoWheels.  I didn't have this at all in the early months, then in month 6 it started in my lower back and legs... then hips and ankles... then neck and shoulders... now throughout my chest.  It isn't muscle pain, and I can't even identify where it's coming from, but my shoulders and chest are tight and contracted, and I'm hunched forward.  So tired of this sh**.

Hi, my muscle pain and tension vanished. I'm about 97% free concerning those symptoms. My worst pains was there during my taper but as said now they are almost gone. When I experienced it I took 3-4 showers a day - hot and cold in a row, went to massage as often as possible and stretched my muscles in home by using weights and followed instruction given by my PT.

So sorry about suffering you have but as said it goes away! Well as we know nobody knows when as we are all different but it will happen! T.

I was a tense dude before all this, so like other "symptoms", theres some conditions i know arent going to magically disappear. like an immense amount of tightness in my neck, back and shoulders. the amount of tension is off the charts sometimes, like im clenching every muscle as tight as i can, and holding it all day. some days its insane, some days it bearable. compared to the other, horrifying, dizzying, dying feeling symptoms, i can live with it, but it is uncomfortable. im 4 1/2 months out, i think when i get past the 6 month mark i may brave a real massage. life is hard like this, and with no drinking, no drugs, no gf, no...nothing lol. sigh.

Epsom salts baths helped my muscle contractions. I still have them but they have let up a whole lot. I also bought this massager that helps too. Plus as others have said, stretching exercises such as Yoga poses might help. It does let up.

I have had severe muscle issues since tapering klonopin.  Some of the things I have found helpful are magnesium supplements, massages (can really help loosen up muscles, especially if the ones around your lungs are tight, causing breathing issues), and a TENS unit (therapy machine with electrodes that sends off a mild electric current).  I also found that light yoga stretches could really help quite a bit with tension in the head and neck, in addition to meditation.  (Although heads up with the yoga - if you start stretching, you may actually tighten up a little more for a few days before you start to loosen.  Kind of like when you first life weights and it takes several sessions and some soreness before your body gets used to it.)
