Anyone else with gum or teeth inflammation?

Good grief!  I'm 13 months off and my gums are becoming more painful, sore and often bleed when brushing/flossing.  NEVER had this BEFORE benzo withdrawal.  On top of that, just had a crown fall out, (did have a lot of cavities/dental work for years), and the dentist and endodontist disagree on what's going on.  One says his x rays show a tooth fracture and the other says his x rays/microscope/3D scans don't show a crack but, the molar next to it has an infected root canal...ugh   Totally clueless as to what to do about it all  :'(.  Anyone else have teeth or gum problems possibly from withdrawal and did anything help you?  Thanks.

PS:  Getting bad pain and now weird numbness in jaw, ear and neck muscles, too.  Have definitely been doing a lot of jaw clenching.  Wonder how much benzo withdrawal is playing a part in all this... :idiot:

Totally. Look up oil pulling. I do it with organic conout oil unrefined cold pressed and a hint of tea tree oil. It works wonders!

Omg yes!  Dental has been a huge issue.  First two perio said I had it, third one said I didn't.  It's like it's healing.

Thank you pushthefeeling!  I have heard good things about oil pulling and will start doing it today.  Glad it helps you.

Sorry dental issues have been a huge issue for you HCH.  Hard to know what to think when even the dentists/perios aren't sure.  Hope your issues are healing.

I really hope as we heal from benzos, all this dental stuff heals up for us, too.

I have gum inflammation on and off, it usually lasts for several days when it comes on, and my gums get really painful.  When it flares up,  I rinse my mouth twice daily with hydrogen peroxide for 30-40 seconds until it really tingles as much as I can stand, and then I spit out and rinse with fresh water.  Brings relief everytime.  I also take extra vitamin c when gum issues come on.  And yes, I chipped my tooth too, so hang in there.  Wishing you the best!

Thanks ginger and glad the hydrogen peroxide and extra vitamin c help your gum issues.  I'm going to give them a try.  Thanks again and wishing you well, too  :)

Yes, I had it when I came off, I used Uncle Harry's toothpaste and mouthwash and now all my teeth and gums are healthy again...this benzo crap wrecks out teeth and gums.

I did a surgery for my receding gum. And yes, I had frequent swollen gum. It's all periodontal disease. You can try consuming vitamin C, I prefer naturally from foods and also look up about histamine intolerance, if you haven't considered it yet. We all are different with many possible causes, but at least from my case this is what I do. Hope this helps.
