Hi,

I have got down to 0.0625mg of clonzepam which is equivalent of 1.25mg of diazepam. The first week after cut was ok but then was hit by servere withdrawals. I have got some diazepam would it be worth crossing over for the last bit of taper? My skin felt like it was on fire, heart pounding, sweating and extreme anxiety. I was thinking the diazepam will be easier to taper

You might not be having trouble with the drug itself but the withdrawals, and if thats the case switching to valium probably wont help. I guess sometimes its hard to tell side effects of a drug from the symptoms of withdrawal. Most people cross over from one to another rather than just switching, which adds a good chunk more time in there as well. Hopefully others will chime in with some thoughts for you...

I would not advise doing a crossover at this point.  A switch to diazepam isn't likely to make finishing your taper any easier and might make it more difficult.  If your last cut gave you strong withdrawal symptoms, consider slowing down the rate of your taper.

Yes I had to reinstate back to 0.125mg . I've decided to do a liquid taper on the clonzepam so I can reduce at a slower rate. Thanks for the replys
