Sometimes it Feels Completely Impossible

We've all been here I'm sure.  The withdrawal symptoms are so horrendous, and I'm not even at the tail end of my taper.  At one point I was down to 5mg of Valium, but after making a couple mistakes and updosing I'm back at 8 and having a rough time stabilizing there.  The taper itself is so overwhelming, and then you hear about people suffering for months if not years after they get off these poison pills.  On top of the benzos I'm also on 16mg of Suboxone and have been taking it for 9 years.  I know there's not much to say and all you can do is keep plugging along, but it's a long road that's already worn me out after years of struggling.  Whenever I read a success story it always makes me feel a little more hopeful, although it's hard to really believe I'll get to that point because I've been trying for years and haven't been able to make the type of progress I had planned on.  Just venting here I guess.  For anybody out there that's moved on from this nightmare I'd love to hear how you got through rough times and could use some reassurement that it's all worth it in the end.  Thanks and good luck to everybody!

It really sucks...but take one day at a time and distractions do help.

I've taken some rescue does during the hurricanes and that was a big mistake. Lots of increase systems now.

Thanks.  I try to focus on the moment and not get too wrapped up in the long term, but it's hard especially because not much changes in a day.  Before benzos I was addicted to opiates for years and with them updosing really isn't that big of a deal.  Not the case with benzos though.  Any little bit you take will come back to bite you in the future.

I think .06 per day is way too much.  I realize that you had a bad experience with liquid titration, but I do urge you to give it another try.  If you don't want to try, then I would use the .06 in dry cuts, and then hold for several days.

I do milk daily titration at .0125 per day of Valium.  It goes well so far.  And it went well previously for me, too.  Note my signature.

Hang in there.  There is a way.  You have all these benzo buddies cheering you on.
