Hi I have been prescribed Ativan for the last 3 months and went from 1mg to 2.5mg while trying to get and SSRI to kick in.  Now I find my self dependent and want to get off of them because I feel they are making everything worse.

Welcome to the forum.  I'm glad that you found us.  I see that you want to get off of your Ativan dose of 2.5mg.  We generally recommend a slow taper of not more than 5-10% every 10-14 days.  You may find that you can accelerate that rate a bit since you took these drugs for a fairly short time.  The key is to listen to your body and adjust your taper rate if withdrawal symptoms start getting nasty.
