Trigger warning ⚠️

Can you explain the severe pain and pressure in my head and the severe physical symptoms in my brain? Is this my gaba receptors trying to up regulate and something to do with something to do with glutamate? Or could this be kindling and adverse effects with the Zoloft too?

Just severe burning pain and pressure in my brain! Forehead above and behind my eyes temples both sides of my head top of my head right side of face and back of my brain down the right side of my neck and it seems to go up into the middle of my brain burning tightness pain and pressure like something is clamping down or on my brain burning stabbing pain and this deep dark emotional state that comes with it and extremely fatigued light headed dizzy and nauseous with severe DP/DR just completely detached from the world around me but the pain and pressure is extremely severe and has been the worst most consistent suffering during this process and has completely disabled me!

Did you have head pressure before you started taking zoloft? If so, then its not the zoloft causing head pressure. Its the benzo wd.

I always figured the pressure was coming from the little muscles on the sides of our heads being tight (like a lot of other muscles).

You're pretty good at localizing and describing your discomfort.  There's a pain meditation that builds on that ability if you'd like to try it.

Here's what you do...

1) get as comfortable as you can.  Sit in a chair if you can.

2) describe in your mind the painful feelings that you're experiencing.  Define the precise area/boundary for the pain.  Describe the pain and its intensity to yourself.  Really get in touch with the shape of the area experiencing pain.  Describe that shape; outline it carefully in your mind.  Don't touch anything.  How much water would that area hold?  Can you sense a color or flavor to that painful area?

3) now forget everything that you just did and start over.  Get comfortable and get in touch with the painful feelings you are experiencing.  Trace the shape of that pain in your mind.  What type of pain is it?  How intense is it?  Don't compare this answer to your previous answer.  Experience it like you've never felt it before.  What is it's shape and volume?  Any colors or flavors?

4) again, forget everything that you just did, and start over.  Do this a bunch of times each time starting anew like you have never done this ever before in your life.  See what happens.

I will try this too. Thank you badsocref!

Maize, so sorry for you suffering. I'm in the same pain. Going on autoimmune paleo diet, hoping it will help. I have inflammation in my body and have high thyroid antibodies.

How is your thyroid?

Love and healing
