Hello

I was already in interdose and tolerance  wd at .75 mg of ativan taken 3x a day.  (7 years of ativan use)

11 days ago I tapered down to .50 twice a day leaving my .75 at bedtime alone.

This was too fast I now know. The last 11 days have been intolerable hell.

Today I was unable to get out of bed. Lethargic, sick, weak, severe whole-head crushing pain, limbs felt weak, flushing with heat. miserable lethargy.

I was so afraid that, because I am a lyme patient (getting better there) that maybe this isnt withdrawal symptoms at all.

So... I took just over a mg and an hour later the symptoms didnt change too much.

My question is this: Should TRUE withdrawal related symptoms be relieved by taking in increased dose? Or could I still be feeling withdrawal  even after taking this dose?  Im really frightened and praying for an answer...

Withdrawal is a crazy beast. Not everyone stabilizes when they updose, and even when they do, it sometimes does not happen right away. It can take a while for the body to adjust to the increased dose.

I have read on this forum many times that updosing doesn't always help.  It did for me, though.

I noticed that you have posted again.  And you have many symptoms.  I would recommend talk therapy if you can afford it.  If not, read lots on this forum.  And keep a journal; this has helped me many times, to read back through and know that I am getting better.

The body may take a while to perceive the increased dose, sometimes several days.
