How does the last wave of benzo withdrawal feels like before one can completely heals?

Good question. I doubt you will get an answer. Those who could answer are no longer on this board. Alas!

I believe they decrease in intensity and duration.  that how I feel myself progresses. you get more good days, and the bad ones are less bad.

Not everyone.  :)

It's been a loooong time since I had a wave.  I've had a symptom or two flare up once in a rare while, but I recognize them and am not worried about them anymore.

But you never know which one will be your last.  It's more typical to follow the healing pattern I did...the waves are gone but you may have a familiar symptom flare briefly and then disappear once in awhile after a stressful event.

I haven't seen any posts on this recently, but I know months ago many people stated that they hit a severe (and someone long) wave before suddenly "healing", or at least feeling substantially better.

Do you think that is proof that waves are 'healing us' or waves simply means that we're still ill?

I've heard different opinions and I don't know what to think about it. I think it's better to think that when we feel awful that we actually heal then.

I got clobbered at around nine months off, I think - it was much worse than my cold turkey.

But then suddenly I surged with great progress at fourteen months, almost overnight. This seems to happen to a lot of us.

I wish I knew.  Hopefully someday.

getting hit by a wave and then having a healing surge is something I did exp. too. but then I got back to waves and the process repeats. everytime I think 'maybe I'm done this time', only to find waves coming back and i'm like 'this shit is back again'. but those are definitely signs of progress i did not have months 1-3.  this will end.

When I'm in a bad place I like to think that new software is in the process of uploading and it feels terrible but once it's updated, I will feel better. Here is one for optimism!

I'm going with the same approach to waves, but sometimes it is really hard to stay optimistic when it hits hard.
