Extreme cold or hot flashes!

Lately I have been so cold when there is no reason to be cold! It's 82 degrees here in Oklahoma. I get so cold that I shiver, and then I can have a hot fash out of the blue! Anyone else experience this?

Maybe this is not Valium withdrawal.  I get the chills when I take a Claritin, as prescribed, once a day.  You might routinely take something for allergies without thinking about what might happen.

I am opposite-I have an intolerance to the heat and unfortunately I sweat a lot-even in the house.  What part of Oklahoma are you in?  I live OKlahoma too and it rained cats dogs and other varmits all day long-flooding happening.

It's an uncomfortable symptom that I hope will pass.

Sending healing thoughts.

Temperature regulation is one thing many people have issues with during withdrawal.  Some people have hot flashes - I would get cold flashes - couldn't get warm no matter how many sweatshirts or blankets I had on.  (the only thing that helped was a hot bath until the feelings passed).

I have hot flashes as one of major side effects of Valium WD. The sensation of heat in the face, neck and decollete. The only thing that helps is AC. They disappear after the temperature gets very low. When I take Valium for sleep, I feel rather cold. A good solution for hot flashes is also Nexcare Reusable Coldpack.

I also have them! Was so scared the first time I got so cold that I couldn't warm up.  :-\ Of course then I didn't know that I was in tolerance withdrawal. Now I'm to busy with pain, electric shocks and dizziness to care about them.  :)

Hi there from Central Florida,

I have extreme hot/cold flashes ALL THE TIME for 11 weeks since beginning of taper K. clothes on, clothes off . . . within minutes of each other. Next thing I know, I am freezing to death and want to turn on heater in 90+ degree weather. Wrap up with blankets, end up with hot flashes . . .

Oh dear, you are not alone. such a pain and unfortunately for me, my skin is now ultra sensitive to clothing or touch.

I am no where near 'jumping' so I can't offer any advice: "this will end"

all I can say is you are not alone in your suffering . . . personal message if you want to stay in touch. I haven't met anyone else from USA here.

best wishes and hang in there. we are all in the battle/war together.

smiles and sunshine from Florida

Hi Pooh

Looks like we share the skin sensitivity to clothing or touch. This is very bothersome to me.  I don't think there is any "bandaid" for this one either.  I am comforted to know I am not alone with this.

Wishing you the best on this journey.
