Hey everybody, so these past 4 days have been an emotional trip.. mind you on Saturday night I had a few drinks and woke up Sunday feeling like I triggered myself 😐 I didn't know that alcohol binds to the same receptors as benzos Do, so my symptoms have been worse. I can barely catch on to conversation, it's hard to retain information and I'm having trouble thinking of words to say during a conversation.. I feel so slow you guys, is it just the withdrawl? Or is there something more sinister going on like permanent brain damage? Please give me some assurance guys.. these CT withdrawls aint no joke, what about constipation and lack of appetite? I need to know if I will come back from this. Oh and last night before bed I had 2 hard spasms.. one that went through my whole body and woke me up from sleep, the other one was a couple minutes afterwords, but I ignored it and fell asleep.. I'm very worried, I've only been CT 4 weeks

I am two weeks out from taper and then CT. When you say spasms do you mean like muscle spasms? I am experiencing really stiff legs and back. Last night my back went into a big spasm.

I get little spasms mostly when I lay down and relax after a long day, they are small ones here and there but I had a big one last night is what Im saying.. I was almost asleep and out of no where I jumped awake like what the hell was that? It wemt from my brain to my arms and feet in one swift move. What about the amnesia feeling? Like horrible memory, and feeling very slow and off.. do you experience that?

Jay...

All these symptoms are normal from what I found. I legit thought I had brain damage. Definitely stay away from alcohol for awhile and eat as healthy as possible. I didn’t really get any relief until recently which was about 3 months out. It’s brutal but it gets better and it’s worth it. I have a feeling that we come out better people all said in done but takes awhile

No need to work up too much, yes drinking alcohol was a poor decision just dont do it again! 4 weeks is very early in terms of recovery, im 3 months ct and even for me a somewhat short time user i still have plenty of symptoms that are just NOW starting to see improvement. When we get through this i know this experience will be something that will all make us better and stronger people :)

I have had the zaps from the brain to the feet before, but not this time around. I think its related to the benzos and how the brain works. When it happened to me I thought I was dying. Then later I read about how this is one of the symptoms of anziety and benzo, etc.
