Been a member for a couple days. Been on x for about 6 months straight with abusing them up to 5-6mg for a month or so. I'm currently on 2-mg aday and trying to taper. It's extremely hard when family doesn't believe that they can become a problem. I've seen the ahston method but I'd people experience to. C/t or no?

From my experience don't try to Cold Turkey on your own head... The better thing is to go slow but you always can see a doctor i delay this many times too but in the end this step helped me a lot..... I was on Zopiclone and they gave me Xanax and other pills for sleeping it was so better after then and i started to taper it. But yes that's my opinion the c/t is stressful for the body, my opinion is try to taper it first if you fell well... if you don't feel very well don't CT.

Hi, slow tapper pays back later on. No for c/t and no for inpatient as typically they are too quick as well.

I did slow taper in outpatient program and it went overall well. I have been 1 week without drug now and did not experience 'acute' but my jump went quite smoothly. Well I still have w/d symptoms but they are somehow manageable. All the success whatever you decide to do with going off benzos.
